European Maritime Day (EMD) is the most prestigious event organised by DG MARE, the European Commission's maritime/marine division. Designed to bring together Europe's community of maritime professionals in order to share knowledge and forge partnerships, the prestigious annual event has been hosted by some of Europe's major maritime locations since 2008. This year, in 2017, the honour has been awarded to Borough of Poole.

This one-off opportunity will promote Poole as a springboard to promote local and regional business to an international audience.

In support of EMD 2017 we have built a Business Programme and Public Festival that forms part of the week of activity collectively known as Poole Maritime Festival (PMF).

Directions

Strong links into the motorway network, trains to London, which take just under two hours and the growth of Bournemouth Airport for business and leisure travel, all add to the location’s ease of connectivity within the UK and abroad.
